Vaianos Oreopoulos started his career at the Ministry in 2001, when he graduated from the National School of Public Administration. Prior to his employment as trade diplomat, he had acquired an extensive experience in the marketing departments of various companies in the fast moving consumer goods industry. During his career within the Ministry, he has been appointed at the Embassy of Greece in Beijing, in New Delhi and at the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney, within the jurisdiction of the Greek Embassy in Canberra. He has drawn up numerous sectoral reports in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors of the host countries’ economies, facilitating the export trade flows of the Greek business community. He has also attended numerous EU Commercial Counselors’ meetings in the above cities, promoting the Greek interests within the framework of the relations of each third country with the EU Member States. Currently, he is serving as desk officer at the B2 Directorate for Bilateral Economic Relations with the Balkan countries. Vaianos Oreopoulos was born in Piraeus and holds a BSC in Economics degree from the Athens School of Economics & Business and a MSc in Regional Economics degree from the London School of Economics & Political Science.
